As long as I got my shoes and clutch

“Playing dress-up begins at age five and never truly ends.”- Kate Spade

We all have special occasions for which we dust off our trusted Little Black Dress… but what do you wear with this LBD?

I’ve combined shoes (mostly heels) and clutch bags that will work perfectly with your LBD, or any other pretty dress for that matter. You can even combine these shoe & clutch combinations with perfectly fitted pants and a sparkly top.

So next time you have a chance to play dress up: slip into your Cinderella shoes, grab the most beautiful clutch you can find and celebrate!!!

SPRING FLING

Spring is in the air and this means that we can dust of our sandals & stilettos and get our floral summer dresses out from the back of the closet.

To me, spring is a time to celebrate our femininity and I do this by wearing a lot of soft fabrics with floral prints.

Spring is also a time to be a little rebellious as spring give us permission to be a little crazy. So don’t be afraid to mix your prints or to wear red and pink together! …Don’t be scared to go out in something other than a little black dress. (florals & light colours can be a winner at night)

Go out & celebrate spring, life and new beginnings!

Shower me with Shoes

I am not ashamed to admit that I am a total shoe addict, I have countless pairs and no space to put it and still buying more and more…and more…

This post was inspired by a gift I received last week: I got home one day after work to find a beautiful box with the name ‘ERROL ARENDZ’ on waiting for me. My heart skipped a couple of beats and I opened the box to find the most amazing and beautiful pair of nr 5 wedge sandals waiting to be tried on. SHOE EUPHORIA!!! …Now, I have been a fan of Errol Arendz, and his footwear in particular, since I can remember so this gift came from none other than my sister/best friend(she knows me best). I will be forever in her debt for buying me my very first Errol Arendz pair of shoes.

You would think that this is a once in a lifetime kind of thing but I think shoe karma favoured me as this is not the first time I received dream footwear I didn’t have to pay for.

About two years ago I got a call from a lady (fairy godmother) telling me that I won a voucher at Europa Art worth R 2 500!!! Normally the R 2 500 voucher at Europa Art means that you can buy about ONE pair of shoes. But, as I said, shoe karma: My sister and I went to Europa art in the middle of a shoe sale and left there with  4 (YES FOUR) pairs of exquisite and beautiful shoes! (3 pairs for me and 1 pair for my sister).
Had the shoes not been on sale the total amount would have been R 7 760. !!!
Call it shoe karma, call it dumb luck or even call it faith I don’t care…

As long as I have shoes on my feet I will walk to the next shoe store!

The Steve Madden wedges weren’t a freebie, I actually paid for it but there are two reasons why I included the photo:

* They were on sale so I paid a lot less than usual.
* They are EXQUISITE!

In the nude

A selection of nude shoes

“A woman can carry a bag, but it is the shoes that carry a woman.”- Christian Louboutin
(Some wise words from the shoe-master himself).

One of my biggest passions and loves are shoes!!! I am a classic cliché: a girl with more shoes than anything else. I buy shoes I never wear and can’t really afford, but they are so gloriously beautiful I can’t help myself.

However, you can never go wrong with a nude (flesh-coloured) pair. A good pair of nude shoes are like putting make-up on your feet, creating a foundation from where to start your outfit-of-the-day (and they elongate your legs as well!!!) It is a classic and timeless item you can always depend on, either for a black tie event or even for a day at the beach. A well-rounded outfit has the perfect accessories and this includes shoes, whether it is a pair of flip flops, wedges or heels. Think about it this way: When you’re having a bad day just look down at your feet and, if you’re wearing beautiful shoes, it will definitely brighten up your day.

The above pictures are just some examples of nude shoes.

And always remember: the foot contains more bones than any other single part of the body so technically it means that you can spend most of your savings on shoes, right?

…Don’t judge me unless you've walked a while in my (nude) shoes.
